I've been a graphic designer/artist for more than 20 years. As a designer, I've always shot for clients needing product photography for their marketing materials. 5 years ago, I committed to the camera on a much grander scale, investing both time and money to the craft.
Within those 5 years I learned the technical side of things, but also discovered the portrait. "Without people in your art, it's nothing", something a professor of mine from sooo many years ago always said. It stuck. The environment sets the tone, but the people tell the story. You need both.
From a headshot to a wedding, people have stories to tell. It's my job to record that story in a creative way while executing a technically correct photo that will become a keepsake for years to come.
